Behind Closed Doors.....

Hello we are the D – LitterBox. We are a group who wants to stop the littering in our community. Gio is the team leader, and the rest of the group are Danny, Paola, Chris and I’m Jocelyn a part of the team as well. We only have a small number of members but were hoping to have more people who want to help and make a change in the community. Boyle Heights is our community that we are concerned on making a change because it represents us, the people. Many visitors who come to Boyle Heights make a lot of judgments on how it looks, for example some people say its ghetto and trashy which is not true. Boyle Heights is beautiful in its own ways and has a lot of history. If we manage to make a change it could inspire other people to clean up their own community, and were not only changing our community but we hope that other communities will see what we are doing and make a change as well.

Litter is becoming a big problem in our community and all around the world.  Not many people know how much littering is actually affecting us.  What we will try to accomplish in our blog is to let people in our community and school know how litter affects us all.  We want people to understand the consequences towards littering because many people throw their trash wherever they like without concern where it can end up.  Also, It’s not just our lives that we hurt, but animals and all living things combined.  For example, “Every year, millions of birds, fish and animals die from litter” told by "CleanMagazine". Many animals die from litter because their habitat is being trashed and infiltrated with junk.  An animal can easily die from eating or getting trapped in the trash. As many animals die, many people continue to trash our environment carelessly.  We, as the caretakers and humans of this planet do not realize the harm and anguish we are putting our people, animals, and world through.

We chose to create this blog to help spread the awareness of littering to help stop this act around are school, community, and mainly all around the world.  A healthier and cleaner environment can only amount to positive outcomes.  We are also doing this blog to convince people to do what’s right and realize the dangers of a polluted planet.  We want to get everyone involved in this project and have people join to help are purpose.  Another reason for this blog is to get media attention.  With more viewers and listeners, we get more interest and begin to spread out the word more efficiently.  We also chose to create this blog to spread our ideas, concerns, and get ideas from other people.

The Litter Squad, as a team and a family, will be collaborating and collecting ideas and thoughts to create an ongoing and successful blog. Students and parents, etc. will be able to share concerns and/or comments including adding to others. We are trying to give people an awareness of littering and the bad affects and outcomes of it. Not only the bad, but the good and significance of actually cleaning and preventing littering including methods on how to live a healthier and cleaner life. Anybody with any interest in a clean and healthy environment should really make this blog a constant website to visit.

We are located in Boyle heights in the city of Los Angeles. We attend CNMT @ Roosevelt high school. We live in a somewhat dirty community and we believe that the litter is becoming a problem. In our school the litter is affecting us in our community. Overall, The excessive amount of litter is becoming a problem here at our school and in our community.
